An entire day with the Divas

I don’t know if any of you would even CARE to know what goes on here at the studio on a daily basis… but if you’re bored and feel like watching all of the dorky shenanigans that happen at the Boudoir Divas’ studio, then check out this video! It’s a compilation of an entire day at our studio (yesterday). This is a pretty typical day for us – full of projects, working, and a little fun thrown in the mix, of course! How we met.

Yep, it’s true! K & I met on Craigslist! It was about 4 years ago now that we sat across from each other at Barnes and Noble and chatted about bringing her on as an assistant. Four years later we are inseparable and, as fate would have it, biz partners! In her first few months I remember looking at the back of this shy girl’s head as she imaged photos thinking, ‘we are going to be best friends and she doesn’t even know it yet.’ 🙂 It took some time… K is like a cat… initially friendly and loving, but doesn’t  bring you into her inner, inner circle of trust until you earn it (“Meet the Parents” anyone?). So here we are now, stuck with each other for a long time, whether we like it or not. Heck, we even had to buy life insurance for each other (one of the many fun tasks of becoming a partnership). But I wouldn’t trade it for the world! I am biz partners with my kindred spirit…. (oh come on…. Anne of Green Gables?!)

*Note: the image above was shot by the fab SD photographer & studio manager, Crystal Carr! She and Deena are the other 2 photogs at the San Diego boudoir photography studio, and M & I couldn’t be more excited to have them as part of our Boudoir Diva family. They have been with the SD studio for so long, it wouldn’t feel the same without them. They are truly a part of the San Diego studio’s foundation. Not only that… but they also take ROCKIN photographs. C & D just had their images published in a local wedding magazine – so exciting! (More to come on that… tune in soon for a new video webisode, today or tomorrow!)

Boudoir Diva’s Tip #… (well I think I lost count actually)

boudoir_tip_posting More than anything we want our clients to feel like the photos are saucy. The Diva’s definition of saucy is that they have movement and major hubby appeal. In order for us to accomplish that the subjects can’t look stiff and/or bored. The hands are a bit part of that. Here is an example above. Cute little touch to the photo huh? Crystal, one of the rockstar photographers here at The Boudoir Diva’s San Diego took that shot. I just love it! – Marissa
