Behind the scenes of our Rock 105.5 pin-up, calendar shoot!

By Boudoir Photo ShootsNo Comments

We have been chosen to photograph the San Diego famous…..Ashlee and Skye from the Rock 105.3’s “The Show!!!” We are so excited to show off their military inspired pin-up calendar in the coming weeks but for now we will kick things off with this fun behind the scenes teaser. Ashley (our Ash) and I had so much fun photographing them. I think a Hummer and fake ammunition will make any shoot one to remember. Then add two hilarious ladies and sets and outfits that would make any photographers day and you have the hottest pin-up calendar San Diego has ever seen.

We have been so grateful for all the love they are giving us on air as well. And SD ladies must trust these girls faving reviews of us because the phones are ringing off the hook! Thank you so much Skye and Ashlee!!!

“Believe in Beauty” photo shoot teaser!

By Boudoir Photo Shoots3 Comments

The Boudoir Divas team has worked so hard putting together this fun shoot, and when it finally arrived we were thrilled! This is a concept we have been dreaming of doing for quite some time. Dreamy, romantic, and a reminder of the beauty that God has so lovingly placed in all of our hearts. For a while we have had fun putting together very dramatic projects and calling them “Editorial Shoots.” While that name served its purpose, it didn’t have the overall scope for what these shoots meant to us personally as artists. So from now on we will be referring to them as,  “Believe in Beauty, a concept shoot by The Boudoir Divas.

I cannot tell you how thrilled we are as a group to release the video/slideshow of this shoot. It will take a little bit of time, but will completely be worth it. It will feature the fabulous Tenley Molzahn & Kiptyn Locke of The Bachelor! It will feature a song by the very talented photographer AND musician (sexy huh?!) love of my life, Mr. Weston Boucher. Hair and make-up was done by the kickass Peggy Rogers. Incredible friends came to help and don tuxes and John and Norma of NR3 helped us with most of the video filming! Oh and one of the very best things, we had help from an amazing hot air balloon company, SKY SURFER! They were so helpful to work with and their balloon was gorgeous!

Workshop Attendees in FRONT of the camera!

By Boudoir Photo Shoots, Workshops5 Comments

So it seems that many people get into the photography industry because they love being BEHIND the camera; capturing those great memories and emotions for other people to cherish forever.  But many photographers are never on the other side of the camera, and many actually despise being in front of the camera. 🙂

Well, we at The Boudoir Divas feel it is extremely important to take that leap at least once, ESPECIALLY if you are going to focus on Boudoir Photography.  You will only know how to relate to your super nervous client if you put yourself in their shoes.  This will show you a whole new perspective and outlook on the overall experience.  Plus it will help you with posing, angles and lighting to see it from the other side of the camera!

Many of our Workshop Attendees take advantage of getting their own boudoir photo shoot while in San Diego.  We even offer a 10% discount off the productions for workshop attendees!  We also love photographing workshop attendees because we feel like you all become our close friends after a couple days and it is so much fun!

That being said, I (Ashley) just had to share some photos of the beautiful Lesli, who attended our February workshop.  I had such a blast photographing her and absolutely loved her little southern accent. 🙂

For those of you attending our next workshop in April (spots are still available!), and are interested in your own shoot, email me at info@theboudoirdivas.  If you want to secure your spot for April’s workshop, you can do so on our Boudoir Shop.

Mission Statement

By Boudoir Photo Shoots, Boudoir Tips, Workshops2 Comments

Our mission statement is so incredibly important to our business. This was the foundation of WHY we started the Boudoir Divas. It is still important to us today. We first posted a blog post about our Mission Statement way back in 2007, on our old boudoir blog

And since our mission statement is STILL just as important to us today, we wanted to post it again, in case you haven’t heard it:

“Our God grants us beauty and love everyday. He empowers us with His divine spirit. He gives us power and wisdom to create a life that will benefit those around us and those he asks us to help and give to abundantly. He gives us the resources and creativity to create a classy and romantic piece of art that ignites confidence and excitement in a bride or wife and re-enforces beauty in a woman and romance in a couple. With praise and deep gratitude we thank God everyday for the blessings He gives to us. We have nothing to fear because Christ Jesus sustains us.” -THE BOUDOIR DIVAS

To all of our photographer friends… we have been teaching boudoir workshops and speaking at photography conventions for over four years now, and at each and every workshop/speaking presentation, we always tell our attendees that they NEED to create their own mission statement. It’s so important for you to let your clients know exactly WHY you do what you do. What is the passion that is driving you and your business? Why do you get up each day and drive to your office or studio, or ‘coffee shop office’ or home office in your garage… what gets you going? Why are you shooting boudoir? Let your clients know! We can’t tell you HOW many times we’ve heard our clients tell us that they booked their shoot with us, simply because or our mission statement!

But your mission statement is way more than just something for your clients. It is something that will inspire YOU on days when you’re feeling down, or feeling burned out. To this day, we still have our mission statement printed and hanging in a frame in our office. If we’re having a tough day, all we have to do is look at our mission statement, and we are reminded of WHY we are doing this.

Our encouragement to all boudoir photographers out there: go find a place where you can be quiet… sit down today with a journal and pen… and write out what makes your heart happy when you think about your business. In ten years from now, when you look back at your life and your business, what do you want your motives to be? Write out all of your thoughts, brainstorm, and then once you have tons of ideas listed out, you can start to create a succinct, clear mission statement that reflects you and your business. Have fun! xoxo, K & M

T Lopez Teaser

By Boudoir Photo Shoots2 Comments

Hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday break! We’re sure enjoying some much-needed vacation. I (Kimberlee) am hanging out with my family, enjoying being with them and NOT doing work! Well, except for this morning – just HAD to check email once. And while I’m on this computer, I figured I’d just go ahead and post one image (that M shot) of T-Lopez from our shoot with her! We have SO many more photos to post, but here’s just ONE for now.

Behind the scenes with T-Lopez Cash Money Records artist

By Boudoir Photo Shoots3 Comments

We had SOOOOOO much fun yesterday at our shoot with the lovely & talented T-Lopez! This girl is going to be the next big thing in music… just wait! She has recently signed with Cash Money Records, and she’s collaborating with big names like Lil Wayne, T-Pain, and Flo-Rida! Her website is under construction, but in the meantime you can find out more about her here. The shoot with T was such an amazing collaboration, and we had such a great time styling, planning, and shooting some killer images (she ROCKED the shoot!) We filmed a little behind-the-scenes footage, so check out the video below for a little teaser. T, you are so sweet – thank you for coming to our San Diego studio for your shoot yesterday. You are gorgeous, and we can’t WAIT for you to see all of your images! xoxo, Kimberlee & Marissa

Check back w/ the blog soon to see some of the images from the shoot!

Ashley’s a photographer! Yipee!

By Boudoir Photo ShootsOne Comment

For those of you who follow our blog, you will know that I (Ashley) joined The Boudoir Divas team just over a year ago as the Divas’ “go-to-girl/Exec Assistant” and have since expanded my job titles to include “PR Director/Marketing/Social Media Manager/Boudoir International Admin”…kind of a little bit of everything around our little studio. 🙂 (If you want to see my VERY FIRST Video on my first day at the studio, click HERE!)All the while, I was training to be a boudoir photographer for our studio! The time has come and I am now shooting regularly. It is an awesome feeling and everything I learned, I learned from M & K. Many of you have asked me to post pics, so here is one of my first shoots. This is the beautiful Lindsey, and she was kind enough to let me share her pics with all of you!

I just LOVED how die hard Charger fan she is (cuz I am too!)

You rocked your shoot Linds; glad you love your pics as much as I do! 😉

Photos with sex appeal; as old as the camera….

By Boudoir Photo Shoots, Boudoir Tips2 Comments

… photos with sex appeal for the every day woman; boudoir! These sexy shots of Blake Lively are gorgeous. And a sexy gorgeous photos will never go out of style. I adore how even a simple, sexy black dress can be as hot as lingerie. We always suggest our clients get at least four “Productions.” That way she can have a ton of variety of herself in lingerie and then still have one set in a dress to show to friends and fam or even Facebook.
