Just got this note on Facebook, from my friend Rondi:
“So this morning i was listening to star 94.1 in san diego and they were talking all about your boudoirdivas business. people were calling in who had done it and talking so highly about your business. They then were talking about the two ladies on 94.1, telling them to go and get their photos done….. just thought you would love to know that, great free advertising you had this morning on the radio! 🙂 hope all is well!”
SOOOO exciting! But wait – it gets even better!!!
Just got off the phone with Marissa, and guess what’s happening tomorrow morning?!? She is going to head into the Star 94.1 studio tomorrow to do a photo shoot for the 2 fabulous ladies of the Star 94.1 morning show, Laura and Delana! I can’t wait to see the shots of these beautiful gals… I just know it’s going to be a fun experience for everyone! Marissa, have tons of fun tomorrow; I can’t wait to hear all about it! And Laura & Delana… you are both beautiful gals, and you definitely should have made the top 50 list. Your photo shoot tomorrow will most certainly prove that fact! Enjoy the shoot; we’re all so excited to see your photos! xoxo, Kimberlee
If you live in San Diego, you HAVE to listen to the show tomorrow morning to see if they talk about the photo shoot! If you don’t live in SD, click here to listen online!
Just got this email from Jill Wesson – thanks so much for sharing, Jill!!!
I just got my copy of The POSEBOOK yesterday, and I LOVE IT!!!!! And just in time for my first boudoir shoot this weekend – YAY! I have been photographing mostly high school seniors, which I really enjoy. But I have been thinking about doing boudoir for awhile, but not really sure how to go about it. Then I met you girls, and the lights came on!
Thank you so much for creating this wonderful resource. Your Bad Ass Training Guide is awesome, and now this just adds to it!
I bought the bundle when you spoke at the Dallas PPA meeting, and it was so worth it. Love the book and the disc with all that great stuff (the “perfect boudoir action” rocks). …
You girls are fantastic – can’t wait for your Dallas “mini” workshop this summer!
Thank you for inspiring me.

One thing you may not know about Marissa and I: we love to read. LOVE it. From the time I was a little girl, I was constantly devouring books, and in Elementary school, I was the typical glasses-wearing, dorky type that always had her nose in a book. Though I was also an athlete (soccer!), I just never lost my love of reading. It is so easy for me to get lost in a story. Anyway… Marissa and I have shared this love for reading, and we are also now sharing our favorite books. I gave her my favorite book to read (which she loved), and then she just gave me this one. It was not what I was expecting, but it was still an amazing story. And yes, I cried on the last page (just finished it last night). I also loved seeing some of the sentences that Marissa had underlined… especially this one particular line:
“From childhood she’d sought inner calm, not outer beauty.”
I don’t know; it just stood out to me, so I thought I’d share it here. Question for all of you: do you have a favorite book that you can recommend to us? I need to choose a few books that I can bring while we’re traveling in Europe next month (after our Paris workshop). Any suggestions? Thanks! 🙂
PS – Peonies are also my absolute favorite flowers. Completely random fact. 🙂

Space is still available… if you’d like to register for the San Diego 2009 workshop, click here to register! We’re SO looking forward to meeting all of you who have already signed up; it’s going to be a great workshop!

You all have heard K and I talk about how hard it is to get away from our laptops. There is just so much to do! 🙂 But last weekend we decided for our sanity we need to go to camping and get away from electronics. Here are some images of our wonderful trip. To learn more on the back story of who this group of friends are please visit my weddings blog.

Oh man this song got me so excited the first time I heard it! I even (gasp!) texted while driving to tell K all about it. And the video makes the song even better. Boy am I glad she married Jay-Z because you see his awesomeness rub off on her in this song. All you boudoir divas out there, crank this and get ready to dance because you just won’t be able to help yourself. Happy Friday!!!! – Marissa
We were one of the proud sponsors of Becker’s annual party in Vegas this year, held in the Real World Suite at the Palms! Here are a few snaps from the evening…
We got to chat a bit in a little video interview… so cool, because they were filming in the confession room from The Real World Las Vegas! Fun times. (Thanks, Crystal, for taking some shots!)
See some more photos over at the [b] school blog! Also… just saw this sick video that Becker posted… So glad to see that the clip of us shows how cool we are (sarcasm!) 🙂 Hahaha, I’m picking a piece of lint or something off of Marissa! Lol! We are such nerds sometimes. Anyway, it was a great time, and we were so glad that we were able to sponsor this amazing party! CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO!!!
Hey everyone! We’re so excited about this… our new Boudoir Divas Group on Facebook!
The thing I’m most excited about is the “Discussion” Board… a place where you can go to pose questions & discuss some of the questions that we’ve posed for you all. We really appreciate it whenever anyone takes the time to share feedback with us, and we figured this would be a great place to start some discussions about boudoir! So come on over and leave a note/opinion/though/question in the discussion area! 🙂
Alright! Here we go, back to blogging our silly little videos. 🙂 We truly want this blog to be a place where we can share information, ideas, and inspiration. If you have any questions for future episodes of “Marissa Explains It All” – feel free to leave your ?s in our comment box below. Thanks! We’ve already got a few more episodes ready to be posted in the coming weeks; we did a big recording session last week before we headed out for our camping trip, and we tried to answer as many questions as possible. So if you asked us a question on the blog, be sure to check back in the coming weeks to see our answers!

PS – on a totally unrelated note… does anyone know if it’s possible to CHOOSE which frame is frozen through Vimeo? Like the pic above – which is just a random frame of the video… is it possible to change this somewhere? (I think this is probably a question for our good friends Lan & Vu). I mean, Marissa ALWAYS looks cute, but this shot caught her mid-sentence and she sort of looks like she’s pissed. Hahaha! Love ya Riss! 😉 If anyone has the answer, please help us out!
