So I’m sure it’s no secret that this past week has been a WHIRLWIND! Coming back from Imaging USA, we’ve got a lot on our plates here at the office… it’s going to take a little while to get all caught-up again. And, actually, I (K) am in my ‘office’ in Colorado, aka a Starbucks coffee shop with a view of Pike’s Peak! 🙂 BUT, we are SO incredibly excited about all that’s ahead of us in 2010! First of all, we wanted to ask for your help…
{We are SO thankful for our Imaging USA sponsor, Showit! Click here to get your own amazing new website from Showit!!!}
So if you were at our presentation on Monday, we’d LOVE it if you could help us out by giving your feedback! We are going to be at Imaging 2011 in San Antonio with a booth again at the Tradeshow, and of course we have to admit that we would absolutely LOVE to speak again next year! I think that PPA really wants to know what you all thought about the various programs, so if you loved hearing us speak, please let them know so that we might be invited back to speak again next year! 🙂 We’d also love to hear about ways we can improve for our future speaking programs. Click here to submit a short online survey about our program! Thank you, thank you, thank you! And now for a little taste of things to come here on the blog in the coming week…
I’m in the midst of narrowing down the winner for our Totally Rad Dirty Pictures contest right now… SO many amazing images that we’ve received; it’s so hard to choose just one! But I’m hoping to have a winner announced on the blog later today, so if you submitted an image, check back later!
Wow… what a way to kick-off 2010!!!!!! Imaging USA was amazing. So many great things to share with you all… but by FAR the absolute BEST moment from this week happened when M & I walked onto the stage to start our presentation. A few days earlier, we had walked into our room to check it out and to see where we’d be speaking. (We were expecting maybe one or two-hundred chairs or so)… and THIS is what we found:
Ha! We started laughing when we saw the 1,000 chairs in this HUGE room! We were thinking maybe we’d get a few hundred people to come out to our presentation… so you can imagine our surprise/shock/amazement…. when THIS is what we saw when we walked onto that stage…
{we’ll post more photos soon, so for now, you’ll have to check out the pic David Jay posted from Twitter}… CLICK HERE TO SEE PART OF THE ROOM WHERE WE WERE SPEAKING!!!!
Thanks to everyone who came out to hear us at PPA‘s 2010 convention! We’ll see you all next year at Imaging USA 2011 in San Antonio! {And, PS, if you want us to speak again, be sure you tell PPA that you’d like us to come back in their online surveys!} 🙂 xoxo, The Divas
Imaging USA has been so fun and such a success! We still have one last day at our booth (#370), and are happy to say the launch of our 2010 Digital Bundle has gone extremely well!
We are almost sold out of the Bundle, but can still ship it to you if you purchase it at our booth and we run out. We have met so many great people and can’t wait to share all of our pictures and videos when we get back to warm San Diego!
I feel like I say the word “boudoir” about 50 times a day. Don’t get me wrong, I love the word, it sounds so dang fancy, but I also just want to have an abbreviation for it. Ya know, to kinda change it up here and there.
A lot of people call it “b-pics” or “boudoir sesh” but those just don’t do it justice in my mind. It needs something with a little more personality and quirkiness. When K and I were creating our speaking presentation we shorted it to just “THE BOU.” Pronounced “boo.” Just wanted to give you a heads up so that if you hear us mention it from time to time you know what the heck we are talking about. Try it. See how fun it is when it rolls off your tongue. How do you like it? 🙂 – M
Kimberlee, Marissa and I (Ashley), have been in Nashville for 3 days now and can’t wait for the conference to begin! We are also pretty thankful to have everything under one roof at this massive and beautiful hotel, Gaylord Opryland, since it has been snowing pretty much the entire time (and lets face it, us Cali girls aren’t big fans of this cold weather) 🙂
For those of you that still don’t have your Imaging USA pass, or have been considering attending, we have some free passes for you!

(In case you were worried, no my hair is not on fire)
The size of this hotel is straight up riDONKulous and we definitely are enjoying exploring it. Last night us ladies hit up one of the nicer restaurant here at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, The Hickory Steakhouse. The food was tasty as can be but what really impressed us was the service. These people really know what they are doing and certainly take serious pride in their work. The steakhouse is in the middle of one of this hotel’s huge atriums and is styled after an old plantation home. Those of you here at Imaging should definitely try it out. I wish Weston, Crystal and Deena were all here to enjoy it with us. Miss you guys. -Marissa (and Ash and K)
Who is going to Imaging USA? WE ARE! And we will be at Booth #370 each day and would love to see your smiling face. 🙂
We will have most of our products available for sale, including some new products and even our WORKSHOP IN A BOOK will be making an appearance!
The Boudoir Divas booth is caddy cornered to Simply Canvas. We look forward to meeting new people and seeing old friends!
BIG BIG THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS!!
Make sure you are following both @BoudoirDivas and @AshleySapp on twitter so you can be updated on our Nashville trip 🙂
It is no surprise The Boudoir Divas love Totally Rad. They are awesome and have so many fun actions, textures, and filters! We use them ALL the time. Totally Rad was nice enough to allow us to give away their newest product, DIRTY PICTURES, to one of our blog followers! Here is what you have to do: just email us YOUR favorite BOUDOIR PHOTO (taken by you of course) to [email protected]. Next Tuesday, The Boudoir Divas will select our favorite one and you will receive Dirty Pictures! This image texture is so cool and adds great depth and a little roughness to your boudoir pictures! 🙂
If you want to know more about the recipes we used to create this look, make sure you are signed up for our newsletter! Kimberlee is going to show you exactly the steps she took to make this awesome images with Dirty Pictures.
Marissa, Ashley, and I are running around today doing last-minute things, packing, and getting ready to leave tomorrow for Nashville & Imaging USA 2010!!! [PS: speaking of packing… my suitcase currently has 9 pairs of shoes, when we’re only going to be in Nashville for SEVEN days… ummmm yeah, I have a problem!] 🙂 Anyway, we are SO incredibly honored that we’ve been asked to speak at this year’s convention, and we can’t wait to meet new friends and hang out with tons of talented photographers! Oh, and we just heard that our bowling team (for the ShootQ bowling tournament) is already booked w/ three photographers who wanted to be on the Diva Team. Not totally sure how we’re going to do in this tournament; I haven’t bowled in a long time (unless Wii bowling counts?) Woohoo! This is going to be a fun trip, I can already tell. 🙂 More details to come soon re: Imaging, our speaking program, our booth at the tradeshow, and a NEW PRODUCT that we’ll be launching during Imaging USA! Be sure you’re signed up for our newsletter list if you want to find out more info and get a free pass to the tradeshow! See you all soon! -K
