We couldn’t help ourselves! When I got the ban.do newsletter this week, my heart skipped a beat… then I skipped right over to the website to purchase not one – not two – but FOUR pairs of hearts! One for me, one for Marissa, one for the San Diego boudoir studio, and one for… YOU!
That’s right, friends! We want to send a pair of mini hearts to one of our fabulous blog readers. We LOVE getting comments from you all – and we LOVE hearing your thoughts! When I told M about these cute hearts, she said she just HAD to have them. Then she wrote: “I have no idea what I am going to do with them, I think I just want them in my jewelry box!” I am thinking the same thing… not sure how I’ll use them, but I must have them. (Maybe I can somehow incorporate it into my upcoming wedding?) Any ideas? I have so much I have been wanting to blog, but it’s summer which means we are slammed! Yay! Love it! But that means that my “to be blogged” folder will just have to wait a while I guess.
I shot this beauty today, Miss Kelenda, and while I loved these images and was so excited she gave permission, I knew that if I didn’t blog them asap that I may not ever get to it. And, if I am honest, I have tax stuff to do tonight so I may be filling my time with more fun things to do in an effort to avoid it. Tee hee 😉 Hoping in the future I will be able to show off more of her images, however some are pretty racy! And I say that to remind those who are wondering if we do shoot nudity that while we don’t show them on the site, we do shoot implied nudity. What that means is no actual bits n piece (lol) but strategic nude poses so the client looks naked without actually seeing anything……definitely a gift to add a little heat to the marriage! xo- Marissa

Ok, so this is JUST A LITTLE BIT belated (since her bday was actually over the weekend!) Sorry M! I know I’m late on this, but I couldn’t let it go by without taking a moment to say how much I love you. Thanks for being the most amazing friend, business partner, and confidant. God knew that I needed a “Diana” (aka kindred spirit) in my life, and I’m SO thankful that He brought us together five years ago. I love you so much and I’m excited for what’s ahead, all the adventures we are still going to have together, and all the postcards we are going to buy to add to our scrapbook. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Can we just say… this was SUCH an amazing group of workshop attendees!!! We had so much fun hanging out with all of these amazing photographers. Here’s a little recap video from the Boudoir Workshop – and make sure you watch it until the very end! (Our attendees were left unattended with our video camera… made us laugh out loud when we watched the footage later!) In case you’re interested in joining us for a future Boudoir Divas workshop, we only have ONE MORE LEFT for this year… and we’ll be announcing the date VERY VERY SOON! So stay tuned. To all of our June attendees – we miss y’all already. Thanks so much for taking the time to come out here… for having the business saavy to know the importance of investing in learning the business of boudoir… and for hanging out with us for two days!

A HUGE part of our distinct Boudoir Divas’ style has to do with the way we light our clients with what we call our ‘hot lights.’ We have a demonstration portion of the workshop where we’ll show you the tips and tricks to create flattering lighting that your clients will love.
Once the demo portion is over, then it’s time for YOU to try it out! We have set up quick stations where each attendee will have the opportunity to work with 2 models for some 1-on-1 time. This is really just our way to let you each have a chance to DO what we have just showed you.

Even though you’re working 1-on-1, never fear… the Divas are always right there, just in case you need some help.
During the small group shooting time, you’ll be working in our natural light setting, and also outdoors… this is a great way to practice nailing your exposures, and working on posing.
Did we mention that you will be leaving with a freakin’ KILLER PORTFOLIO?! 🙂 We have to give a huge shout-out and THANK YOU to all of our amazing models for the hard work they put into modeling for us all day long! Thanks, ladies!
